Kate Tokarski, LCSW
My Story
With over 20 years of experience in the field, I am a seasoned social worker specializing in a variety of therapeutic modalities, with a particular focus on the interconnectedness of spirit, mind, and body. I hold a Master's degree in Social Work from Rhode Island College (2001) and have developed a deep expertise in supporting individuals through trauma, grief, anxiety, and depression.

My work centers on empowering both adults and teens to build resilience and healing through compassionate, holistic approaches. My therapeutic practice integrates a blend of evidence-based methods, including trauma-informed care, mindfulness techniques, and strengths-based interventions, ensuring that each person receives the individualized care and support they need to thrive.

In addition to my clinical work, I have a strong background in mental health and medical advocacy, specializing in students' rights and special education advocacy, as well as advocacy at the State level working to make sure patients and doctors have more say in medical treatment than insurance companies. In addition, I teach trauma-informed care to future physicians at the Alpert Medical School at Brown University.

As a mother of four, I bring a unique understanding of family dynamics and the importance of advocating for mental health resources within educational systems. My personal and professional experiences have shaped my commitment to guiding others toward achieving balance and wellness in all areas of life.

When I am not working, I can often be found in nature, embracing the outdoors and practicing my passion for portrait photography. These personal interests fuel my holistic approach, as I believe that time spent in nature and creative expression can be a powerful part of the healing journey.

My approach is grounded in empathy, respect, and a belief in each individual’s inherent strength. Whether you're navigating a life transition, managing mental health challenges, or seeking a deeper connection to your own well-being, I can offer a safe and supportive space for growth and healing.
